Why We Like The Z/Cloud Sandal

The rugged durability and adventure-worthy performance we expect from Chaco are now available with an added dose of comfort in the Men's Z/Cloud Sandal. It has the same tough, fully adjustable webbing straps and burly ChacoGrip outsole as our old favorites, but with the benefit of a cushier footbed that offers a softer feel and enhanced comfort without sacrificing performance. The footbed is also anti-odor to resist odor when we're wearing this sandal every day (which we surely will).

Sticking with Chaco

I had my first pair of Tevas around 1990. I knew no one else that had ever seen or wore them. Over the years Teva has failed to maintain quality. I got my first pair of Chacos about 8 years ago and they still work for me. They are a bit heavy, but work for me almost everywhere. I decided to get another pair and they are going on a cycling tour of central Europe with me next week.

Z/Cloud

Love my Z/Cloud sandals. I've been wearing Z/1 sandals for 26 years and the Clouds are just a little more cushioned which now makes them my favorite sandals!

Ok sandals that I don’t love

Little nitpicks add up to me not loving these. I’ve been a long-time Chaco wearer, but I’m not as satisfied as I should be for the price and Chaco’s reputation. First, the Chaco brand sole is not as good as the older Vibram soles. It wears out quickly, and seems like you’re skimping on quality. The cloud foodbed wears much faster than the regular footbed, but will still outlast the sole anyway. In the past, usually the sole came unglued at the front anyway. For me, the continuous strap loosens up on me, especially in water, but then is difficult to tighten. For my feet, I’m realizing that the arch is too high and rolls my feet outward, but that’s just personal fit. These things are notoriously heavy, like the weight of boots. Having small feet for men’s feet the size hick footbed and wide straps aren’t very proportionate—I’ve considered that the women’s model may be better for me., .

Cushy Comfort and Style

I have not been a fan of any of the Chaco Sandals up until the new cloud base series. I love these! They are super comfortable for hiking, running or even poolside!

Great sandal. My second pair.

Great shoe, my second pair. Super comfy footbed and easy to use. I did have a problem with first pair delaminating (layers in footbed), but was able to repair well enough to continue to use them. The delaminating happened after many years of occasional use, so I can’t really complain. My biggest frustration has been the lack of size/color options for men. Seems like they used to have a lot better inventory, so when these were available and on sale, I snapped them up.
